Therapists at ETC see their practice as a collective community-based endeavor and base their prices on clients’ proximity to power and privilege. Most therapists here have a few sliding scale spots. Please do not let financial concerns keep you from reaching out. To see more on pricing click on individual therapists’ websites.
None of our therapists take insurance, but all of us are happy to provide Superbills to submit to your provider for reimbursement.
A Superbill is an invoice that is designed for out-of-network clients who are seeking insurance reimbursement for mental health services, such as therapy sessions.
Therapy can go fast, or slow, and take between one session and a couple of years. The length of therapy will depend on what you are hoping for, and when you feel you have achieved your goals. The length of therapy should be part of an ongoing conversation with your therapist.
Finding a therapist is like dating, or finding a good friend. It helps to know what you are looking for, and what your therapist specializes in. But most important of all is finding someone you connect with. This can happen in a short phone call, or after a couple of sessions. Most therapists at ETC offer a 15-minute consultation to meet them and see if they might be a good fit. If they are not a good fit they might help you find someone else within the collective who better suits your needs.
